JAGUARS 2008 SCHEDULE FEATURES THREE PRIME TIME GAMES; MOST SINCE 2000
THREE OF FIRST FOUR GAMES AGAINST AFC SOUTH OPPONENTS

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2008 season is highlighted by three nationally televised prime time games on NBC, ESPN and NFL Network. The team will open its 14th regular season on the road at AFC South rival Tennessee on September 7 at 1:00 p.m., with their home opener the following week against Buffalo on September 14. Three of the first four games are against AFC South opponents including two on the road, and three of the first five games are against 2007 playoff teams. The Jaguars’ schedule features a Sunday Night game at home on NBC against Pittsburgh on October 5, a Monday Night Game on ESPN on December 1 at Houston and a Thursday Night home game against Indianapolis on NFL Network on December 18.

Fourteen of the Jaguars’ 16 regular season games during the 2008 season will be played on Sundays, with 11 scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET kickoffs and three late afternoon games. The schedule features four playoff teams from 2007 and six games against playoff teams – Tennessee and Indianapolis twice, as well as Pittsburgh and Green Bay. The Jaguars will have 10 games against teams that finished .500 or better in 2007, and four against division winners. The Jaguars’ three nationally televised prime times are tied for the third-most in team history (4, 1999 and 2000) and most since 2000.

The Jaguars open the regular season on the road for the sixth time in club history and first time since 2004. The Jaguars’ opener against Tennessee marks the seventh time that the Jaguars will open a regular season against a divisional opponent and second straight season against Tennessee. The Jaguars have played Tennessee more than any other NFL team (27 games). The Jaguars own a 9-4 mark (.692 winning percentage in their 13-year history) in opening day games and have won three of their last four opening day games.

The Jaguars will host Buffalo in their home-opener at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium on Sunday, September 14. The Jaguars are 9-4 in their home openers with wins in three of the last four games. The Jaguars play back-to-back division games beginning on September 21 at Indianapolis with kickoff set for 4:15 p.m. The Jaguars host Houston on September 28 at 1:00 p.m.

In October, the Jaguars host Pittsburgh on October 5 on NBC’s Sunday Night Football in a rematch of last year’s AFC Wild Card game. It marks the 13^th time in 14 seasons the Jaguars have met the Steelers as the teams have met every season since 1995 except the 2003 season. The Jaguars have won four consecutive games (including playoffs) against the Steelers, all under head coach Jack Del Rio. The Jaguars travel to Denver for the second consecutive season as they meet the Broncos on October 12 before observing the bye in week seven.

Following the bye week, the Cleveland Browns visit Jacksonville on October 26 for a 4:05 p.m. kickoff. The Jaguars open November with back-to-back road games at Cincinnati on November 2 and at Detroit on November 9. It will be the Jaguars’ first game at Ford Field and first trip to Detroit since their inaugural season in 1995. The Jaguars finish the month of November with home games against Tennessee on November 16 and Minnesota on the 23rd. It will be the first visit to Jacksonville for the Vikings.

The Jaguars play three road games and two home games in December for the second consecutive season. The Jaguars travel to Houston on December 1 on ESPN’s Monday Night Football, the Jaguars’ first road Monday night game since 2000 and only the fourth in team history. Following the Texans game, the Jaguars will play back-to-back games against NFC opponents as they visit Chicago on Sunday, December 7 and host Green Bay on December 14. The Jaguars conclude the home portion of their schedule on Thursday, December 18 as they host Indianapolis on NFL Network at 8:15 p.m. It marks the fourth consecutive season the teams will meet in December.

The Jaguars close out the 2008 regular season on the road at Baltimore on December 28. It will mark the eighth time in club history the Jaguars have concluded the regular season on the road, including eight times in the last nine seasons.

2008 JAGUARS SCHEDULE NOTES

The schedule features four playoff teams from 2007 and six games against playoff teams - the Colts and Titans twice, as well as the Steelers and Packers.
The Jaguars will have 10 games against teams that finished .500 or better in 2007, and four against division winners.
The Jaguars will play back-to-back road games twice and back-to-back home games three times.
Of the Jaguars' eight regular-season road games, one will be played in a domed stadium (Detroit) and two will be played in stadiums with retractable roofs (Indianapolis, Houston).
The Jaguars will open the regular season on the road for the sixth time in club history and first time since 2004. The Jaguars have opened the regular season at home the last three seasons. The Jaguars have played in 23 nationally televised prime time games in their 13 seasons with a record of 13-10 including wins in three of the last four games. The Jaguars own a 7-4 record on Monday night with wins in two of their last three games. The Jaguars have not had a road Monday Night game since 10/16/00 at Tennessee.
The Jaguars are 11-6 in nationally televised prime time games at home including wins in four of the last six games. The two prime time games at home in 2008 are tied for the second-most in team history (3, 1999).
The club has appeared on ESPN 14 times (9 on Sunday night, 2 on Thursday, 3 on Monday) and holds a 8-6 mark in those games.
The Jaguars will host Pittsburgh on October 5 on NBC Sunday Night Football, the 13th time in 14 seasons the Jaguars have met the Steelers. The teams have met every season since 1995 except the 2003 season. The teams will hook up for the 21st time in the regular season with the Jaguars leading the series 12-8. The Jaguars have won four consecutive games (including playoffs) against the Steelers, all under head coach Jack Del Rio.
Minnesota will visit Jacksonville Municipal Stadium for the first time on November 23. St. Louis and Minnesota are the only two NFL teams to not play in Jacksonville in the regular season.
The Jaguars will travel to Detroit for the first time since their inaugural season in 1995.
The Jaguars face three non-division foes for the second consecutive season in Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Denver. The Jaguars will travel to Denver on October 12 for the second consecutive season while the Bills will make their second straight trip to Jacksonville on September 14.
All four non-conference games will be played in a six-game stretch beginning on Sunday, November 9 at Detroit and ending Sunday, December 14 vs. Green Bay.
The Jaguars are 67-37 all-time at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium including a 6-2 mark the last three seasons. The Jaguars are 46-58 overall on the road with a 5-3 mark in 2007.
The Jaguars will play their 28th and 29th games against the Tennessee Titans (including playoffs), the most against any NFL team.
