Away Game Trip 2008

Make plans to join the Jacksonville Jaguars Booster Club as they travel to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans on September 7, 2008!

Tickets

We have a limited number of tickets available, so if you are interested in going please get your deposit in as soon as possible. These tickets will be distributed based upon the order that the deposits are received. We won’t know the exact price of the tickets for a few more weeks, but would estimate the price to be $40 to $75 per ticket. You can mail your deposit of $25 per ticket to the club office or pay via PayPal; see details below.

Hotel

We have reserved a block of rooms at Springhill Suites at the Nashville Airport. The cost is $89 per night plus tax for a room with 1 king bed and $104 per night plus tax for a room with 2 double beds. This price includes a complimentary breakfast buffet and airport shuttle. You need to call 888-287-9400 to make a reservation and ask for the Jacksonville Jaguars Booster Club rate. Everyone is responsible for paying for his or her own rooms. When you make your reservation you will be asked for a credit card to hold the reservation; your card will not be charged until you check-in. These rates are for September 5, 6 and 7, but you do not have to stay all 3 nights to get this rate. These rooms will only be held until August 15, so don’t wait to make your reservation.

Transportation

Everyone is responsible for his or her own transportation. If you are driving, there is no charge for parking at the hotel. If you would prefer to fly, please make your own reservations at the airline of your choice. Prices change daily, but as of July 14, 2008 there are daily flights offered by Delta starting at $170 round trip and Southwest Airlines has 4 nonstop flights daily starting at $189 per person.

Other

We will arrange transportation to a group dinner on Saturday night and to the game on Sunday. We will have more information on that in the next few weeks but anticipate the cost for this to be approximately $25 per person.

Volunteer to Carry & Unfurl the American Flags at Home Games

This year for the majority of the home games The Booster Club will be in charge of taking two (2) American Flags out on the field for the pre game National Anthem. For each game we will need about sixty (60) volunteers to carry the flags on the field, unfurl them and then carry them back off the field.

Each volunteer will be required to wear a black booster club shirt. There are two (2) versions of these shirts: large logo on front or small logo on front/large logo on back. These shirts are for sale at the office, order form at www.jagfan.com, training camp and various social events. In addition, you must have your own ticket to get in the game.

As for the physical requirements you do not have to lift much weight but you will have to be able to stand for approximately 30 minutes, walk on and off the field at a brisk pace. We will have a practice some time before the first game and it is encouraged that everyone attends this practice. There will also be a practice before one (1) home game.

Volunteers needed for Training Camp 2008

It’s the time of the year when all of us are getting pumped up or as the new saying goes ‘JACKED UP’.

The booster club will have a table for a “New Member Drive” and we will be helping the Jaguars with the Gatorade/NFL “Beat the Heat” Safety Awareness Program during training camp.

We need three (3) or four (4) volunteers for each shift listed below. Please e-mail trainingvol@jagfan.com or call the office 721-5530 to volunteer for one or more shifts. Please be aware that your preferred shift may be filled and you may be placed on a reserve list for that opportunity.
